The reality of the modern musical financial model has made securing production budgets for truly independent artists increasingly difficult. However, the recent advent of "KickStarter" is giving fresh talent back its power in what may be the first truly democratic method of musical funding.
Mike Phillips and the Philharmonic have already self-funded a hugely well-received EP entitled "Bones", and are now ready to record their first ten track album.
Essentially a pop group in a style which has seldom been seen since the 70s, they are a truly eclectic ensemble; embracing folk, jazz, funk and more, almost echoing the late, great Tim Buckley.
