Chelsea Hijack Salah's Liverpool Move

Mohamed Salah has had a dramatic change of heart and agreed to sign for Chelsea. The FC Basel winger had verbally agreed upon a move to Liverpool, until a Jose Mourinho's bid blew them out of the water.

Despite having told Liverpool he only wanted to move to Anfield, and already paying a deposit on rental property in the area, a last minute bid from Chelsea will see 'The Egyptian Messi' move to the capital. Liverpool were close to agreeing a fee which amounted to almost £11m including add-ons, but Chelsea- more flush with cash than ever due to the sale of Juan Mata- were prepared to play £11m up-front in a deal that could eventually be worth £14m.

Liverpool are, understandably, thought to be very frustrated at this turn of events, especially as they are rumoured to have paid for the flight that brought Salah to the UK, where he will discuss personal terms and complete a medical. The deal is expected to be concluded within the next 48 hours.
